Wild swimmers will enjoy a swim as the water temperature in Coniston was really lovely. We didn't move the van to go anywhere else until day 5 as there were plenty of walks from site. About a min walk to the lakeside and about min walk to Coniston village. Our pitch was lovely and quiet under the trees but with sunshine morning and evening. A very large spread out site so take some time to decide where you want to be. Footpath through the site leads to the water's edge. "Good spot to spend time on or by Coniston water. Either by road or stroll along the side of coniston water. Excellently maintained! 1.5 mile walk into a lovely quaint village. "Beautiful site, not as welcoming in this weather though. Keep up the great work guys, see you soon 😊" All staff are friendly and knowledgeable, don't be afraid to ask the question. Lovely stroll through the wooded area down to the lake, sheep are grazing so if you have dogs please take care, keep them leashed. Facilities are very good, well spaced out and exceptionally well maintained. "Only had an overnight stay here but will definitely be back for a longer stay. Great dog walks from site, and loads of poo bins on site." Plenty of well placed water and waste points.
